I have a media room with two Sony receivers using the same IR codes. Is there any way to control them seperately? I have some remote macro's that need to control one at a time while others that need to control both. I am guessing there is an IR repeater that can be setup to add a code to signal which receiver to control but I don't know what is available (and affordable). Thanks for any help!

It depends on what Sony receivers you have in the room?

If you have two of the new STDR5/3 models you can in the set up menu assign one to AV2 codes. You will then need to learn the AV2 codes from the included wand remote, after it has been set for AV2.

If they are the latest ES models, you can use the Xantech Gatekkeper system, more complex to set up and program and more expensive

You could also use a ProntoPro-RF, (control one with IR the other with RF). Ask how-to in the PRONTO FORUM to find out if your macros will work. Give details.

One very nice solution is use a RT8 from Xantech, is a IR router.

You have to create a macro, first step: RT8 Port, second step: IR command of your receiver.

Also you will need an IR Receiver, PS, Flasher and RC68+ Programmer, there is a product application pdf at www.xantech.com.

Good luck

Several companies make IR extender/controllers to allow multiple, identical products to be used in the same room. Niles has one that can handle up to 8, I believe.

A solution cheaper than the Xantech RT8 is the Xantech CC-12. The RT8 routes the signal through some active circuitry, but the CC-12 simply lets you wire up a relay to switch the IR signal to one emitter or another.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
