As for domain name, I use godaddy.com The last dot com I registered for 10years ran me a very steep 80 bucks. I emptied my pants, and 80 bucks in change fell out, so I was set.

CafePress uses DTG machines so the quality isnt as crisp as screen printing but its not bad and definately cheaper if you have a bunch of colors and theres no setup fee.
I could strip the effects from the logo and make it a 'flat' image for screen printing. (ive done a little screen printing...highschool :)

I bet you could pay your CEDIA trip if you packed a backpack full of t-shirts and sold them at the show for $50 each... I was thinking CEDIA would be a good place to give them away to raise awareness for our cause... or atleast get a few free drinks :)

I just printed the 200dpi logo in EBG's post above and the it looks pretty darn good with my $80 cheapo HP all in one. Oh yeah, duh. I was thinking of how small it would be in an embroidered logo. I think it's great, especially the new one, although without better resolution it would be easier to read if it were not in italics. It's still a drastic improvement over the first rat one -- all the details are bigger and better.

You guys can all start organizing pics and stories about every jacked up install you run into. Brainstorm about what will be on the site. Botched project photos and stories. This could be where you point customers who are looking to save a buck.

I think this is the last edit. I got rid of all the tiny text & made the rat meaner and bigger and i have the word trunk slammer going around the circle. I got rid of the italics and i think i agree with EBG.. its easier to read. I printed it out and i can get about 25' away and still make out the white text. I have server space, i know a couple of you guys do to so lets pic a domain name and get started. I think wordpress would be a cool way to go because we could all become users and be able to login and add posts (i think lol). Both of my hobby sites are using wordpress so you can check it out and see how it operates. There are all sorts of themes available and we can use a default theme, then begin loading content, then when we want to change the theme its super simply (usually). I got stuck doing some graphic work for a paying client tonight or i would have been allover this LOL. Im headed for bed.

This could be where you point customers who are looking to save a buck. i could definitely use something like that... seems like a lot of slammers are coming out of the woodwork right now, what with the Circuit City closure and Best Buy restructuring... and Tweeter closing means no more Showcase Home Entertainment, one of the bigger "local" CI shops. would it be wrong to submit a pic of my own work before i went back and fixed it? :D

I was thinking CEDIA would be a good place to give them away to raise awareness for our cause... or atleast get a few free drinks :) CEDIA will be a good start for the shirts for drinks and meals with reps. Now more then ever will be a must for taking before and after pics. I used to dive right into fixing the mess and didn't think about getting pics till the job was finished. I got lots of botched job pics. Speaking of that, does anyone here have a release form for pictures of completed jobs? I was told to be careful in case the pics are used for promotions ect. Food for thought...

As much as I luv that this is for us and directed towards Custom Integrators. I think this applies to all craftsman type trades. There are many "Custom Installers" for flooring, cabinets, landscaping, whatever, and I'm sure that the professionals of those trades have the same problem with trunk slamming good for nothin's.
