The label adds, 'WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.'

There's something in the air in California that makes bad things happen with a lot of products. Using Goof Off in the other 49 states should be fine, though.

Right?

My brother has used this product for many years.
My nephew has thirteen fingers.
Coincidence?

Can Goof Off remove a really bad tattoo?

I used rubbing alcohol and it came right off (ya got to let it "soak" a bit) without hurting the plastic!

What's great about that is I only needed about a cotton ball full of the stuff so I was able to drink the rest!

Fun times!

Thanks again 39cs!

For those who don't recognize the distinction in the above threads:

Goof Off: Is meant for removing dried paint residue. Carries lots of warnings. It is quite agressive, and will remove many dried ink's and paints. I sometimes like it when I want to remove a logo from a product, applied via silkscreen to a metal bezel, etc.

Goo Gone: Is a citrus based product meant for removal of adhesive residues. It will leave an oily residue, but the residue is easily removed with most cleaners.

I know its years old but,

WD40, followed with w Isopropyl Alcohol and final wipe down screen cleaning fluid, Like it never even happened!

This was some stubborn adhesive on the front of a shiny black computer. Could not get it off. Found this thread in a search and I was done 1 minute latter!

Thanks Remote Central!

And I didn't even have to start a new thread to get my answer ;p

I have to remove a Niles MS210 from a display because IT DOESN'T WORK WITH NEW DTV RECEIVERS!

It leaves the gooey residue.

How can I remove the stuff without damaging the plastic/finish?

Any light oil will work, GoofOff, GooGone or mineral spirits will work. The stronger the solvent, the more likely that it will affect the surface, including anodized aluminum. For that matter, if none of these is available, nose grease will work, too. Bald guys can use a dollop of waxy yellow buildup.
