Hi,

Can anyone email me the RS232 protocol document for a Panasonic TH-42PWD4 Plasma?

I'll owe you one!

Best Regards,

pwr off = \x02POF\x03
Input Vid = \x02IIS:VID\x03
Input RGB1 = \x02IIS:RG1\x03
Input RGB2 = \x02IIS:RG2\x03
Mute on = \x02AMT:1\x03

Actually, I am putting together a demo of a touchscreen system and need the full two way protocol. How do I query for input, aspect ratio etc.

Thanks for these though. Hopefully, you or someone else can email me the full protocol.

Are you sure you are using the correct cable? Baud rate?

yes i think so, its a male 9 pin one end with a femail 9pin other, pins 2 and 3 are crossed and pin 5 is straight through, pins 7 and 8 are jointed at plasma end.

Baud Rate is 9600

Hyperterminal is a wierd beast. It doesn't always like to talk to serial interfaces that are not a modem. Go figure. Try using MTTTY, a very straightforward comm program. Works perfect for what you are trying to do and will remove any doubt about HT. There is a recent release hosted at Winsite.

On the last Panny I touched I noticed what I beleive was an incorrect pin out in the manual. You may want to try a null modem adaptor before going crazy.
