I have a problem with an AVR 510, and the same problem may be present with other models.
When Surfing channels on a Dolby Digital Sat receiver the AVR detects and plays Dolby Digital Audio when broadcast. However when switching back from a Dolby Digital source to Prologic the receiver switches to its default of "Surround off" this is very frustrating. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this Default, or if there is a software upgrade available for this unit.

Horizon, the way you worded your question, the unit's default is "Surround off". If so, can't you change the default to be ProLogic? Or are you saying that the default itself changes?

If you are using a universal remote, such as Pronto, you could program the surround mode explicitly for each source.
How hard can this be?

I have not heard of this problem, and have installed many of the h/k products. The 510 did not have discrete surround modes. However, the new 520 does. Also try the OSD and see if the default surround mode is set to Surround OFF.
