Anyone familiar with TiVo DTV combo unit using a dealer showroom card. After a few minutes of viewing TiVo jumps into a demo loop. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a work around this problem to stop it from going into this mode. It is tough to show a customer it's features when in the middle of a demonstration the TiVo Actor pops on and starts babbling.

I had this problem when the box came out. The problem is, DirectTV will not activate the TiVo portion of this combo as a dealer account like they do with the standalone TiVo unit. Some sort of paranoia, that the dealer will sell the unit with a complimentry "TiVo Lifetime" service and a dealer card, thus giving away complete service for free. As it goes already, TiVo will only activate, I think, two dealer display models. Eventually, what we did at my store was to activate the Dealer card in the unit and pay for a lifetime service on the TiVo portion.
Sorry for the bad news!

Check out the tivo forum at www.avsforum.com. I think I might have seen a fix for that.
