gentlemen!!! why sub it out!!!! a 10,00 sq ft house is a custom system thru the client. ive been a security co for 20 yrs, and TRUST ME!!!! there is plenty of money to be mad if your good and know what your doing. Fire and CO detection in resi is the next best thing for the client, for 1, insurance reasons, 2---MONITORED, some one knows your house is burning........it also gives you a better chance to get it monitored.
Stay away from wireless!!! IT SUCKS!!! Hard wire everything if possible, of cousre you will have to add things to a existing system, and yes sometimes, sometimes its easier and more profitable for you to use a wireless device depending on the job. Wireless also has batteries to change and communication problems galore!!!
As far as specs go, if its a quick pre wire for a new builder, u give him a great price-$300-$400 to get in the door and rough it. 2 KP, 3 PIR, Drs, Horns of course price changes for a hundred double hung windows. Specs are good too, bang 3 or 4 out in a day and u got a good days pay w/ a couple potential monitored contacts. Wire is cheap in the beginning stages. You want monitoring to be a successful company

Thanks guys! Some good information for me to take in here. I was using honeywell because well, vNet said honeywell but the information about DSC and GE are now support options. I will talk to both about getting some more information regarding design, install, wiring etc...
The only reason I was thinking sub out was because I have not done security, never wired, never set contacts, don't know where to set contacts, never terminated, never programmed. I have the ball rolling and I get that it is not terribly difficult but I do have to admit when my plate is about full with the automation and control systems. We'll see Monday who responds about meeting on the site.
Thanks Again!
