Trying to make PIP work on my tsu6000 but have had no luck.

I have a sony xbr kd-34xbr2 hdtv that uses a rmy809 remote. I'm using a tuner from the direct tv/tivo box and the one from the tv. I have tried with just the sony remote but can only get the same channel on both screens(same with pronto. I was hoping someone could give me some suggestions on using my pronto for the Picture in Picture. I do have prontoedit4 on my computer. Thanks.

What you need to do is set two sections up on one page on your pronto. One that changes your tivo channels, and one that changes the channels on your TV. Using your TV remote (probably easier this way) get it into PIP mode and press input until you see your TiVo on one side, then select the other window and put it on the tuner. As long as you always exit it on the correct input there will be no need to set it again. Now with your Pronto you can change the channels on one side with the TV channel buttons, and on the other side you can control the TiVo. I know it sounds confusing, and thats because it is. Unless you are using the 2 tuners built into the TV PIP is truely a pain in the ass. We have so many clients that have such a hard time using it that we don't ever bring it up unless they specifically say they want it. I hope this helped you understand it. Maybe someone can explain it better.

Why is it that we in this industry are serving the technically challenged? We do the same thing of not telling customers of all the featues of specific products (like PIP) because they generate 9:00pm saturday night call of how to turn it off/on or to recover from a technical maze. One of our largest product lines, Deno*, generates more late night calls due to the remote. A standard remote so complicated that the average person can't even operate it. Of course it does help me sell more TSU's.
