When I'd just mounted a 60" Elite on a Sanus double arm mount, and the client's wife comes from the hallway behind the plasma and says, "You have bolts sticking through the wall!" (Tom pauses for a long moment...)

Most of the Sanus mounts use 2-1/2" bolts, but this big mount uses 3-1/2" jobs.

The perfect storm - first time in awhile for that mount and the long bolts, and FIRST TIME I've mounted a TV to a wall that is built on 2x4s running sideways!!! The wall was 2-1/2" thick!!
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Ever seen the cat5/rg-6, 16/2 that was ran right through the pocket door.

Well the door used to work...

The client whom I call, when away from him, "Mr. Difficult," comes ambling into the room where I've just drilled diagonally up into the attic over the bedroom, and politely asks what those wires are coming out of the bedroom walls near the ceiling....

Be sure that you NEVER say, nor even mutter under your breath, "Lord., give me patience." You can only have patience by learning to exercise it in difficult circumstances, and your prayer WILL be answered: you will be presented with many difficult circumstances in which to learn patience. This situation with Mr. Difficult expanded my ability to be patient with myself and with a slightly insane client!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

We had a client that had complained about a water leak after we had installed a satellite antenna on the roof. I initially told the customer that the antenna that we had mounted was not near the closet that he noticed some water spots on the ceiling. I went to make sure that it was all sealed up and while checking it out I noticed a 1/2" hole in the roof right above the closet the customer was complaining about the roof leak. Turns out the tech had drilled through the ceiling of the closet and then up through the roof.

Sometimes you just shake your head and wonder what someone was thinking.

Actually, I haven't had too many install "oh-sh*ts" lately... except in this remodel I'm on which is getting trimmed next week, I realized I don't have a cable feed to the theater, and it's going to be miserable trying to get one there!!!

I actually sat up wide awake in bed last night and remembered, that I forgot to run any RG6Q to that area!!! 8>O
