I'm not sure if any one will ever come accross this situation but if you do here is the solution. I installed a television, and projector in one room and wanted to run DVI to both units from the satellite receiver. I used an Extron DA model DA2-4DVI. When the projector was on and watching satellite and then the client opted to watch television the picture was digital static (the only way I can think to describe it) untill the projector went through its cool down cycle. When the projector completly turned off the picture was restored. The solution was to add a code to turn the projector (Sony VPL-HS10) to another input before turning it off every time. Has any one else run into a problem of DVI "backfeeding" a noise signal through a DA and therefore disrupting other monitors also on the DA? I'm going to attempt the same thing only with a Marantz VP12-S2.

THIS IS WHAT THIS SITE IS BEST AT!
Thank you so much for posting this. Many of us will sooner or later run into this problem, and when it happens, it matters more that we have A #$*&%@@# CLUE how to solve it than that we understand exactly what causes it. We will get that answer sooner or later, but meanwhile we have a workaround.
I am surprised that this could happen because I expect the Extron product to have quite a bit of isolation between one output and another. You should tell Extron about this. Maybe they will improve that amp. Maybe it never occurred to them to test for this.
Thanks!

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |
