I think URC needs to decide what direction it wants to head in.

The come out with all of these entry level remotes that visually appeal to clients while performing low and now they want to enter lighting control. Fun.

Are they trying to take all profitable items and dump them off to the Best Buy crowd. Thanks URC!

In my experience, URC sells white paper features. They fall short on delivering, implementation, and tech support.

Based on the email, it sounds like they've probably teamed up with Lutron (maybe Vantage) and created a built-in RF code-set for some of the remotes.

If they did outsource the actual dimmer to a reliable company, this could be a cool add-on feature, especially if there is way to use the switch with RTI ;-)

This may be a better way of getting your foot in the door for Lighting on Retro's than just throw'n in a spacer and bouncing the IR around the room.

I will wait patiently and see.

I can't say they have ever fallen short on delivery, and this shouldn't be the case here. If anything, they tend to have new goods well in advance of expectations (KP900, MX880, MX450...who knew?).

Some people would complain when hung with a new rope......

Don't like URC? Then use RTI and quit complaining.

Prolly have complaints about them too. So, you can use Harmony......

Nah, they'd set you off as well....

Perhaps you can just use the remotes that come with the crap you buy, then it'd be a perfect world......

You can keep hanging yourself and your clients with URC.

I do. Thanks.

No thanks. I actually care about my clients.

Nah, they'd set you off as well....

Set me off? I am complaining that they are diluting the industry that you make your income from selling product that you have to talk clients out of even though on paper there it seems capable of the job.

"No Mr. Customer they are both RF capable remotes and both have a color touch screen but you should buy this one because it REALLY IS better..... not just because its more expensive."

And you are ready for them to do the same thing to lighting control?

No Mr. customer they are both dimmers and both RF..... just the Lutron ones actually work.

Perhaps you can just use the remotes that come with the
crap you buy, then it'd be a perfect world......

It blows my mind that CI's would protect a vendor that doesn't give two XXXXX about them.

Stealing one from Snap.

Grabbed a seat and waiting for the show!

I am on SD's side, but I like competition. Hopefully it will help RTI step it up.

Let me step in and apologize for my rant. Having a long week.

URC has its place in the industry. I will leave it at that.
