Well I had one of those days at work today so I did not get to call, but hopefully I can put in a call tomorrow. It is out of warranty as Tom has pointed out. This is my own unit so no customer to deal with. I guess after I contact Energy I will see which way to proceed. I will keep you posted.

Call Klipsch (bought Energy) and get a price on the entire
amp/back panel.

Dang!!! Klipsch bought Energy also??? They just bought JAMO too!

Well as long as bose stays away...

I remember the days when Energy was a Canadian company, and that meant "something" as far as a little bit of cache when compared to all the crap coming from china and taiwan, granted not as cool as being from Denmark or built in the good old USA. I still have the original Energy boxes for a complete 5.1 and they have the US and French Canadian verbiage on them.

Even before Klipsch bought API, most of their products were being made in China... I think just the super-premium models were still made in Canada.

I believe you're correct. I know the Veritas stuff was from the "North Country".

Looks like Klipsch is making a similar move as to what The Harmon Group has been doing for some time now. Buying up a bunch of smaller companies.

I read an interesting article in The Absolute Sound last month about all the companies that are now having stuff built in China, and the problems a lot of guys are having over there, with counterfeit parts being put into their amps and speakers.

I wonder if Klipsch will buy PSB too?!

I own a bunch of Energy Take and Reference Connoisseur speakers (their head office is just a few miles from me).. All made in China, but still very nice quality.

Update,
Well the official word from Energy is no parts available at all. They referred to an outside service center who called me back to tell me no parts available at all. They told me they can take a look at it and perhaps fix it with aftermarket parts. I called a friend that works for a company that does printed circuit repairs, so its in his hands now, he has parts on order and expects to have it completed next week, so fingers are crossed.

Well I have given up on the repair route there just seems to be to much damage. I stopped by a couple of stores on my way home this evening to listen to some subs and I could not get a decent audition or knowledgeable salesmen for that matter at all. I don't mind spending some money for a replacement but I do want to know what I am getting. Are any of you in the north Jersey area that would be interested in getting me into a new sub? I would like to hear any recommendations for a nice quality replacement.

You need to go into a CI or hi-fi shop and take one home for demo anyway. Listening to a sub in a showroom (no matter where it is) will mean nothing. Most firms will allow this.

Unfortunately I assumed this would be the outcome for your repair search due to my own personal experience with an Energy sub....that's why it's now serving its second half of its life in the garage system. A guy needs some bumps while detailing the cars, right?

I wish there was a good hi-fi shop in my area but any that I know of have basically all closed. I would love recommendations for someone in my area.

How long would it take you to get to Philly or a little past in Eastern PA. I can refer you to someone there. They carry many lines including Energy if you'd like to compare.

That's a bit far, probably 3 hours, I do thank you for the help and will keep it in mind if I can't find anyone closer.
