Hello all,

We're expanding (again) and find ourselves in need of a full-time programmer. Our operations in Northern California (east bay, between San Francisco and San Jose) require someone with install experience to program and deliver Pronto and MX700 remotes. This individual will also be programming Elan systems (primarily System 6 and Z series). To maintain full time status (at least temporarily) the programmer will also need to assist the install teams when necessary. Currently we service our 5 bay area stores and provide some support to our 3 outlying stores, so our growth in programming will continue for quite a while.
We will be happy to train the right person, so only a modicum of experience in programming is necessary. On the other hand, as this person will be the final face our customer sees, a polished individual who knows the ins and outs of system hook up and installation is necessary.
We pay a fair wage and offer a number of benefits, as well as providing an opportunity to advance in the fastest growing a/v company in the country.

******ALSO HIRING INSTALLERS!!!******************

We're also looking for lead installers - one based here in Hayward (CA) and another in Sacramento. 1-2 years of experience is necessary. Company van, benefits and a fair wage.

Anyone interested in the above mentioned positions should contact me at:

[email protected]

PS, we prefer someone who already lives in the area. Last time I posted I received a number of inquiries from outside of the country and I can tell you now that we are not in a position to help someone aquire a green card or move across the country.

Theaterworks,

I have the original Help Wanted post at Integrationpros. I never got a response there either.

Huh. I would be interested if I lived in the Bay Area, and didn't already own my own company. Sounds like a good gig out there....

Finding and keeping good people is always a problem. Finding more when growing is harder yet.

I couldn't agree more. That is why I try to hire apprentice level people, teach them the skills they need, and then grow them from within. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) we have had tremendous growth in the 3 years that we've had our stores in California and I keep being forced to hire from outside.

Jeff,

You might try advertising at tech schools that do IT training. There is an enormous glut of IT pros in the bay area right now. They make great Pronto/Crestron/AMX programmers!

You might call the department heads and ask if anyone is flunking out, sometimes a failed IT guy might be a great addition to your team.

Best Regards,

-Eric

Thanks Eric!

I already have a relationship (of sorts) with DeVry and have hired one installer (with great success) from there. My big issue on this is to find someone who already can hook up and trouble shoot a head end, ideally with real-world experience in what it took to get the wires there, so I can concentrate on making him/her into a top notch programmer.
Besides, if I can get the right person here I can sell lots of MX700's for you!

Jeff

PS, I still owe you lunch. When are we going to pull that off?

Jeff,

I would definately be interested If I lived in the bay area. I believe you were at a training I conducted for Novidor. I'm in Arizona now, no longer with Niles. Send me an e-mail sometime.

Thanks Sean,

Who knows, someday...

I just got word that we also need someone in LA. We're looking for someone to hire in as an apprentice but be able to quickly move into a lead position. The individual for this job would work directly with our CIS manager in LA and, as the market builds up with our first three LA stores, become a lead with a van and an apprentice. Great opportunity to get in on the ground floor in a market that will mature quickly. Because this job will move into lead very soon, we would be looking for someone with a couple of years of experience. Let me know, anyone...

Jeff
