I have a Client with a VSX-49 Elite Receiver... Seems the only way to work the second zone is with the Input on the back, Pioneer calls for a specla "Pioneer" interface kit..... My question is will any standard Speakercraft or Xantech IR system work with the input on the back of this receiver or do I really need the pioneer Kit?
Thanks

Yes any ir system will work, rf receivers will also work to. All you have to do is select other in the setup menu for IR receiver brand.

Also, be sure to use a tip ring sleeve mini cable rather than a mono cable or else you will short the IR signal against the ground. I have ran kepads through IR systems into the rear input, RF works well, and if you have an existing IR repeater system then get a ZC21 from Xantech and you will have no problem seperating the front and rear inputs IR-wise.

2 Separate IR systems are aready in place... One for Theater and a Second for Whole House. Theater Emmitter is Just stuck to the front of the unit... Is there a Zone 1 IR input on the back?
Thanks

The "SR in" jack is the zone one input. You need a Xantech Universal Interface for that one though, and it has to be grounded to the Pioneer's chassis (and the dip switch set to the correct positions.
