Am I the only person in the world who is having MASSIVE I.R. problems with P.E. products? They seem to perform really well... provided you don't try to use anybody's anything else to control them using I.R. We are about to try serial control... any in-put from you guys that have been around for a while would be a big help!!

Hmmmmm... Are you talking about accross the board problems or specific products? I've worked with a few Elite TV's lately and they've been perfect.

I do a lot of work with Elite products and I find them to be one of the best lines for custom installers, plenty of discrete options, and they work fast too. However the serial commands have some difficulty.

Currently we are using an IR repeater but we are entertaining the thought of using serial commands to control the VSX49TXi. The main issue that I have is the DVD player commands. (The DV-45 is the biggest culprit.) I tried some things over the weekend... one was learning the commands from the DV-47Ai into a TSU-3000 and it worked flawlessly. I am going to try those commands on a DV-45A today, as you have already discerned, I am pretty new at this. I don't think it is an IR problem just because we have 4 other components that have been working great. Thanks for all of your in-put.

There is your problem right there. You are using a TSU3000. We used them for about a week and decided that they were not worth the effort and use only the Marantz pieces now.

I could not agree more. I don't know much about the Marantz piece, but Pronto is more trouble than it is worth. I felt very comfortable with the TSU-2000. We have been looking at the MX-700 and it looks to be the remote will are going to go to now. I am getting one for my house and will see how it goes from there.
