Hello All,
I'm working with a xantech RS232IR module and I need to be able to do the following. I need to use a computer to control an AV system in a board room. I need to be able to create an icon on the desktop for different controls of the system. When I click on say the System On ICON I want to tell the RS232IR module to spit out the IR Commands for the Projector, Screen, lights off, and drapes closed. I know and understand how to program the module itself. What I need to know is how to create the ICONS with the RS232 commands so they will talk to the RS232IR Module.
Thanks Robbie

We have been programming a lot of systems using Visual Basic.
You design a window with buttons, when you push each button an ascii string ( ex. "0101+" ) is sent to the serial port and the interfase converts it to IR commands.
Is really an excellent alternative for automation.
Good Luck
