Where do you Crestron,AMX programmers get your graphics? I am just getting started and it really sucks not having graphics. I am looking for buttons, icons, backgrounds, etc.

There are a few companies that will sell you graphics... GUIFX is one. Other sources are Non-Copyrighted internet icons and graphics. You'll find a bunch by doing a general yahoo or google search for "Buttons" and such.

Best way is to either design you own template (Fireworks, Adobe, PSP, etc etc) or to outsource it to a graphic design house.

I generate all of my own. It used to take a long time, but now with the right tools and some experience using graphic editing programs, I can create a new theme in a couple of hours. The time intensive part is laying out the panels and creating the logic to drive the operation of the panels / subpages.

With Crestron's newer programs... they make it a little easier since you can overlay text on top of a graphic "skin". In reality... you could get away with a background, inactive button skin, active button skin, for a total of 3 elements in you whole project. Most of my touchpanels have around 200+ unique individual graphic elements.

The important things are to use a little bit of aesthetic awareness, keep things simple, and think with geometries in mind. Buttons should be organized and work in groups. The eye should be able to easily see what you are trying to communicate and navigation should be quick (up down... no circles and no dead ends.)
