I'm having a swimming pool built, and it looks as though I may have to fire my contractor and finish the job myself because he has turmed out to be completely unreliable. I have a On-Q HMS 800 in my house and was thinking of trying to use it to talk to my pool controls to control the pump, vacuum, waterfall, ligts, etc. Has anybody out there done any pool integration using a HMS 800? what kind of control system have you used, (Jandy, Aquadyne etc.) and what kind of communication protocol? I know that Aquadyne does some stuff with X-10, and the HMS 800 has an optional X-10 interface.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We are in the process (not completed or tested, mind you!) of integrating two different pools' controls with a whole-home system. Both pools will be equipped with Aquadyne controls, which use X-10 devices internally. I plan to piggyback my X-10 control on top of that, so that the pool controls can be monitored by my system, and controlled by my system when the user wants. The overall control and interface will be Crestron.

If you want basic on/off commands ... try an ELK 9100(X-10 based) module ... I've used them on other 220V stuff with the HMS line
