I am having trouble learning the power and input codes for a panasonic plasma 42 hd model into a rc3200. Could not find the codes on this site, can any help or make a suggestion? Thanks

the inputs on the Panasonic plasma are weird... No matter what discrete you throw at it, it switches to video 1, and then you have to cycle it from there.

There's a set listed for them, but it's RS1994/OFA codes... you'll have to search the One For All area for them- look back like a year and a half ago...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

cableguy,

Have you tried this one

[Link: remotecentral.com]

I used it recently and it worked great, not sure if plasma IR has changed recently although I haven't encountered any issues.

You will of course need to C&P the codes from the original pronto CCF.

Let me know if you need any help.

OK,

The best way to do this (unless someones invented a faster process) would be as follows:

  1. Download the pronto edit software (or Touch screen setup) for the Pronto (or RC5200/9200) both will work nicely.

  2. Install software (for this example I'll use the Marantz Touch screen setup)

  3. Start up the software and open the Panasonic CCF that you've downloaded following the link I provided.

  4. At the top left of the screen you'll see a small icon labelled DEVICES. Expand this out (+).

  5. locate the pages you want (small green icons)and open them (double click).

  6. Highlight the button you want to copy and hit Insert. You'll see a large rectangular area with the command highlighted in blue (usually says something like [C] LEARNED Double click this to open up the Add IR page

  7. Click View IR
The HEX code for that particular command will appear and you need to Copy it.

  8. All good so far?

  9. Next open your RC3200 software. I'm sure you know how to use this!

  10. Anyway, contruct your page with the relevant buttons (possibly replicating the Marantz Touchscreen panel although I'm sure your remote will be much more ingenious)

  11. Right mouse click / Properties on the actual button.

  12. Click on Add IR code and paste the HEX code you copied from Touch Screen Setup.

  13. Repeat until all the buttons you want are completed or can't stand anymore or computer has frozen up!

  14. Result One working RC3200 well hopefully

    Give it a go,
Remember this technique can be used on any pronto CCF, take your pick.

    Good luck!

    Chris.

I've not tried the actual discretes posted on RC although they should work.

However, bear in mind that the CCF contains all the other commands as well as the discrete Aspect ratio commands.

I have been using the discretes for the panasonic for quite some time now and have had no problems. We did a 37 panasonic last week and a 42 about a month ago. Not a problem. If you email me I'd be happy to send you the codes I have.
