Just want to hear opinions on the following lines ...
1 - Klipsch
2 - Monitor Audio
3 - M&K
4 - Russound (new advantage series)
5 - Niles (DS series)
6 - Martin Logan
I know this is a WIDE range, but I'd like to hear comments and opinions

Very divers list, I am a dealer for M&K ( big fan!) and Monitor Audio. Both products are great performers in their perspective markets. Super stuff!
Def tech is also interesting.

Just want to hear opinions on the following lines ...
1 - Klipsch
Great Showroom Speaker, Loud and eficient for the Rock n Roll fans. Wouldnt sell them to anyone who realy apreciates more subtle music.
2 - Monitor Audio
Heres your Detail spaker. Metal Driver technology is second to none. Excellent cabinets.
3 - M&K
Great all around speaker. Cosmetics leave something to be desired on many models. Subs are awesome.
4 - Russound (new advantage series)
Not much experience, but personally, I stay away from most electronics manufactueres speakers.
5 - Niles (DS series)
Good speakers, Not much to worry about shopping wise.
6 - Martin Logan
Dont bother u nless you have the amps to back them up. Power hogs. WHen matched with the right amp, they sound great, but underpower them and they fall flat.
Is this for a Retail based showroom or custom appplication? Why are Sonance and Speakercraft missing from this list?
You might want to look at a more flashy satallite line as well. Gallo is great for an application bose killer.

What are you using them for?
Klipsch are strictly for Rock and Roll. Loud no detail.
I found monitor to be an overly sharp sounding speaker.
I love martin logans but they need high quality components to get the best out of them. When they get that they are glorious!
You should give the PSB Stratus line a listen. B& W CDM line is very nice but different from the PSB. If you can find Thiel, they are very good as well.
That's my 2cents for what it's worth.

Thanks for the replies ... Keep em' coming ... I'm a dealer for some of the lines I mentioned ... I just like to hear opinions ... Always looking to do it better ... I'm a big Klipsch and M&K fan ... Anyone installed any Klipshorns (even as a dealer, I haven't even heard them) ... more feedback welcome .. keep it coming

1. Listen with your own ears using a music piece you are famniliar with.
2. Take into consideration the acoustical environment and the associated equipment they are demoing.
3. What is your front end consist of: Receiver or Amp/Pre-Amp combo, CD, DVD, Vinyl...etc.
4. What type of room are you planning on placing the system in, size, width, height, depth, carpet, hardwood, drywall, plaster????
5. What types of music do you listen to and is system also used for home theater?
6. It always amazes me how many bullshit opinions are everywhere - Trust your ears and yourself.

I've installed Klipschorns before and they are just too bright for my personal taste. They were we used an all Theta head end so I know the power and quality of signal was there. They are impressively large though :)
