Has anyone run used a hughes sat receiver with gloria? I had major problems with the codes being learned into it from the supplied remote and even files from the intellifile. It would learn and test as a single transmission, but when put into use, the code would double. Intead of getting "8", I would get "88" or "power, power" . I called Niles but they said to send them a Hughes sat receiver, but we don't carry hughes. HELP!

I had the same problem with an RCA sat receiver. No matter what I tried, the IR would double. I switched to a Sony sat and that cured it.

When you learn the command to the Niles, try and hold the button on the sat remote until the niles accepts it. Sony just requires a short burst, other companies require long burst.
Worth a shot!

Have you tried replacing the batteries in the original Hughes remote control? You could have a corrupt carrier frequency via low voltage. The Hughes would continue to work fine directly, but the Niles would have trouble learning the carrier correctly.

I have used Hughes GAEBO receivers several times for whole-house audio with the 4630. I've never had a problem with them, including changing the codes. (you have a choice of 8)

That would confirm my guess that you are having problems because of low voltage batteries. Pop in a set of energizers or duracells and give it another try.
