I just did an insallation today where we changed everything over to DP because Dish decided that we had it too easy with their previous POS system. Any way I just wanted to save alot of hours of heart ache and let people know that you can't (for my experience) stack a 6000 on the second or third switch, it has to be on the very first switch if you are stacking more than 4 receivers. Hope I can save some sanity out there.

You also need to use the Dish Pro adapter, since the 6000 is not designed for stacked frequencies.

vts,

Did you have legacy adapters on ALL non DishPro receivers in the system, and ONLY dishpro LNB's AND DP34 switches in this system?

Reason I ask is I have one system in service that has three model 6000's, one 508, and two 301's. One 6000 is on the first DP34 switch, while the other two are on the second switch. I had NO problems once all DP gear was installed, and it has run fine for 8 months now.

yes to all of the above. All DP LNB's and the only receiver that needed a legacy adapter was the 6000. The 6000 would get signal and sometimes it would get HBOHD with no problem but some of the other transponders on 61.5 were 0 signal strength, so it wasn't all of them. Further more the 6000 was the only receiver that coudn't receive these transponders, the other receivers were fine (although it was the only one that needed them).
