Hi,
Got one of the new model vcrs Slv-n900.

Anyone had success with using the SLink port?

I hooked it to the control-S-out port on video1 of a DA4es, but could not get any control.

Since the new Sony rec's are set to AV2 could this be creating a problem? Change the reciever to AV 1 and see what happens.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

I dont use s-link, but isnt it designed to change inputs, not to actually give you control of a component?

Sony S-link can do more than just change inputs but it's depends on the device. Generally stay away from it. I've been told it's some sort of serial\IR hybrid but Sony changes the code structure so there is no gaurentee of anything working reliably.
