Has anyone ever installed the Escient Fireball with the Niles 4.6 multizone preamp. I am having trouble with the i/r codes, it seems to accept the codes, but will not operate the Fireball.

Can you control the Fireball with the Fireball remote through a Niles system IR receiver
(assuming you have one). If you can't, it may be a zoned IR issue, not a code issue.

The 4.6 has many IR issues. I've had problems with Marantz On and Off codes for the CC4300 among others. Niles is aware of the problem. You should probably call them and ask them if they have any suggestions.

Escient uses some hard-to-learn IR codes; not my idea but their stated admission. The Pronto/RC-5200 can learn them, but other learning remotes have problems.

Havent used a 4.6, But the 4630 had a recent update so that it would control the fireball correctly.

The IR Receiver in the 4630 cannot read the fireball remote properly, however, niles has a IR file in their database now for it that can be uploaded.

Check with Niles Tech Support, and they will point you in the right direction.

I have also found the emmitter location for the fireball to be very touchy, it's got to be just right to be reliable, and the mini plug on the back gennerally doesn't work with high output IR signals (and my experience with the Niles stuff has always needs some backing down)

I've never had a problem with the IR In Jack, Xantech, Speakercraft and Audioplex is what I use. I would say your problem is more Niles related than the IR In Jack on the Fireball.

to fix this problem all you need to do is down load the 4630 software from nilesaudio.com/techsupport and then down load the escient file niles has put on that web site and then down load it in the 4630 and thats it. the reason this happens is the fire ball ir works at an odd frequency than what the 4630 can accept the remote programing hope this is what your looking forf
