How does everyone run speaker cables outside,

Is there a general speaker cable used that you can place in the ground in trenches which is hard wearing
or is the general consensus to protect the cables in some sort of conduit?

Thank you.

If your able to run conduit underground, it is always the nice thing to do (future use). But the speaker wire to use would be direct burial. Here's a link.

A less expensive option would be to use 12 ga. low-voltage-lighting wire.

We run cabling outside all the time and we put it in pvc conduit and use burial wire.

all wire we use is direct burial...in pvc for under ground is best for future proofin' in customers yards especially when there are additional areas to be addressed for next summer(s)and certainly gives u additional "damage control " from over caffinated landscapers )
