Don't you feel really poor when you go home at the end of the day? Yep. But after thinking about it for a while, I remember my house is 600sq ft bigger than the average American home. I spend all my time during the day in homes that are at least triple the size of my house. So there must also be a lot of people that have some really shitty houses.

I get more depressed thinking how much less stress and misery and more money had I gone into ANY other trade besides this one. But that being said, I am thankful for what I have. Some savings, a nice car, a "soon" to be nice house and a dog. I see my friends from Highschool drowning in debt, can barely afford to put tires on a car, etc. and think there are way worse off people then me. IF i had all the money in the world, I honestly don't think my wife and I would want any bigger house then we have. She would want a barn. I want a garage (hanger) with herringbone brick floors, chandeliers and lighting highlighting my exotic and classic car collection. And then next door would be an epic wood shop. Ohh, and a few hundred acres of land between us and the next people.

I know some of you get flown around on your clients jets/helicopters but it's not something that's ever been offered to me :( Got to fly in a Citation X. 51,000 feet @.998 mach. Freaking awesome! A little under 2 hours from Houston to Salt Lake City.

I've been told that travel on the newer private jets cuts about 30% off the flight time vs. commercial plus all the saved time with ticketing, security, boarding, etc. Here in Santa Barbara you can still drive right to your hanger/plane so it's just a few steps to get on or off the plane.

Don't you feel really poor when you go home at the end of the day? I'm happy with how my life turned out. I never really wanted a fleet of jets, a warehouse full of cars or $20M+ vacation homes. I feel fortunate and think it's fun just to get a peek inside the lives of the rich and famous. 10 years ago I never even knew there was a world where you could spend $130k for a stove, $150k for a mattress or buy rugs that cost 6 figures. Best part is I work for some interesting people and interesting people have really interesting friends so I've had the chance to meet people I would have never imagined!

Hold the phone. 150K or a mattress? What kind of mattress is that?? Hastens... they're all the rage here for people who can afford the best of the best. They're hand made and stuffed full of horse hair. I think they start around $30k with mid-range models costing $50-$60k. The high-end are $130-150k. It's not uncommon for a vacation house to have $250k or more worth of mattresses in it. EDIT: I just looked it up and the top of the line Hastens is $149,000. It weights 450 pounds and takes 320 hours to make.

So, they have it made, delivered and set up, then that first night they find out they cannot sleep om the damn "thing", and go back to the jet for a restless night of almost sleep? That would be how it goes for me, were I silly enough to spend that much money on a mattress. A Pawley's Island hammock works fine for me, and I can buy a small house in the boonies with the leftover coin....LOL

I think everyone would benefit from working for extremely rich people. Find them. And offer what they want.
