Put a pork shoulder on at 8:00 this morning. Attempting this with gas grill, Amazen 12" tube pellet smoker, and 50/50 oak and apple pellets.
A bit tricky to keep temps low enough with the gas regulator. I have just one burner on low and the valve on the tank open just enough to keep the regulator happy. Lost flame once already. Might have to customize the regulator. :)
Smells good though.

Smells good though. Hmmmmm. Sounds good. Next time I do some baby bakc ribs I need to try the pellet smoker set up. Did some last week though. 3 hours in the over at 350, and then 30 minutes on the grill, slathered with Sweet Baby Rays both times. They were just damn fantastic.

The $30 Amazen tube smoker is great! I was about to throw some coin on a Yoder but decided I would give this a shot. I normally grill on charcoal but want to start smoking more but do not want the hassle of babysitting a fire. So I thought I would try this thing on the gas side of my grill. Aside from the regulator issue and what may be an inaccurate thermometer, the tube smoker is awesome. I filled it and got really close to 4 hours of good smoke out of it.
Just waiting for this pork to finish off now. Stoked. Whipped up some homemade slaw just now as well. Combo birthday party for 2 of out girls and a friend's boy today. Always a good excuse to 'cue!

I've come to the conclusion that he needs a hat. All great guitarists need an image, and distinctive head ware seems to work for most of the best known guitarists. One of my Favorites. Sadly he's not that well known to the general public. If you ask someone that's into music they will know him well or have heard of him but if you ask the average sheeple they have no clue. They only know the useless man-made fake music that makes me want to puke.

although i've see discussions about him on here in the past i never really sought out listening to his material - more like "ill get around to it". then one day my wife came in and was talking about this song she heard in the car on XM and took a screenshot saying "you have to hear this guy", and it was JB. i looked him up on spotify and for the next 2 weeks i listened to everything he had on there over and over. it was awesome to discover a new (to me) artist who is so talented. he is now on my concert bucket list.

Not today, but this week found out that Gord Downie from the band The Tragically Hip has been diagnosed with terminal Brain Cancer (he's 52 years old). A band not well known in the US but is one of the best rock bands in Canadian history that sing about Canadiana will be doing a farewell tour this summer. I'm hoping to get to most of their Ontario shows as they put on one of the best.
If you are looking to find a new(old) band to listen to, give them a search, you won't be disappointed.

Definitely go see him. As good as he is on radio / you tube, etc, he freakin rocks live. His songs in concert are longer than that they play on radio and he knows how to build them.

Did what I do a lot.
Drove to Oak Island for a few days at the beach house.
It's a tough gig, but I'm up to the challenge.... :-)

MG Lucas wiring = Prince of Darkness. That is a horrible way to talk about the "Prince of Darkness", Lucas is much worse.

British Leyland gas gauge = Wooden dowel.
British Leyland turn signal = Screaming "I'm turning!".
British Leyland speedometer = Bounces between 1 and 70.
British Leyland oil pressure gauge = Always reads zero.
No big deal as long as the car still runs....
