Utilities?

Beach house:

Water: $112.00 per month (fixed minimum for 2000 gallons).

Elect: $150.00 monthly average.

Gas is not available.

Main House:

Water: $30.00 per month on average.

Elect: $300.00 monthly average.

Gas: &20.00 Monthly Average.

The beach house would seem cheaper, but there are a lot of other costs, like eating out ALL the time, extra wine & beer.... ;-)

Today I attended an annual Halloween party where they get 4K trick or teeters every Halloween. Crazy.

Ritzy part of town, streets closed, houses close together, people come from all around.

They gave out blow pops, 3 to a kid. I helped hand out candy for an hour. Lots of fun!

The annual party is the Saturday before Halloween, or on Halloween if it's a Saturday. I attend this party every year, but this is the 2nd time I've been that it's been on Halloween.

Today i saved this thread from page 6.

Seriously though, today i discovered how gratifying it is to give a good job to someone who desperately wants and needs it.
Went cross eyed reading the 151 applications that came in for it though.

We've had the wife's Pathfinder since July I believe. I still pull our the "I got you a nice new car" when she is getting in a mood. It actually works sometimes :-)

Met with "the guys" for our annual Thanksgiving eve poker game (First game was in 1975!).

We all met up at 7:00PM and the game broke up at 4:45AM.

I was the big winner. Won $13.00. :-)

Good idea, advice from the same people that gave us a lottery. Every store that sells lottery tickets is required to post a sign about how to contact the NC gambling addiction hotline. But there is no requirement on where it goes. You usually see it ear the restrooms, while the lottery tickets are on the counter by the registers.

Well, two more days to go before we close down Speakerlab. My boss and I have been recalling the good times and not so good times, great customers and the bad customers... I gotta admit it hasnt really hit me fully, as I am in denial, cause it is the end of an era. Speakerlab was one of the most iconic businesses here in town.

Trying to keep smiling, have had a ton of customers come in and thank us and give us their condolences, sharing their Speakerlab stories.

Back in the 70's and 80's we were doing close to $15,000,000 annually at 60% margins (due to our speakers we built). Those were crazy, happy times for us. Just a bunch of young hippies, doing what we loved --- bringing great sound, cheaply to music lovers.

It's pretty sad though.

Beer time started at 3:30 today instead of 5:30!

I'm grateful to all of the wonderful people I've met here over the years, and some great experiences.

A new chapter.

Starting over sucks though...

Are you going to stay local or are you leaning toward moving down south?

That's because only a gambler would use those filthy bathrooms.

Chances of that are probably a whole lot better than winning anything in the lottery!
