Watched an amazing air show over Lake Washington.... F-22 / Harrier Jet / Blue Angels.... My lord, the technology of these jets is unreal!
Going back tomorrow, as today was a practice run.
Damn those jets are totally amazing!

About a week ago i started a DIY project. I bought a vintage stereo/record player console that i am restoring/upgrading. $50 craigslist. I started out by gutting all the non-working electronics and woofers. I worked on the finish a little but then i had to start packing/moving and now i am headed out of town for a couple of weeks. Yesterday i bought a pair of Infinity RS3's for $40 (craigslist). Some guy used them as surrounds. They are in perfect condition. They barely fit inside the cabinet on their sides. Not possible to stand them up. Hopefully tomorrow i have time to get them fully installed and wired before i leave for my work trip. When i get back i have to retrofit the guts of a new turntable into the console and add a Sonos connect amp. So far i am into this for $100 including the stuff from home depot for the finish. Another $600 for the connect amp and the turntable. I think it will be a fun toy when its done and definitely something to talk about when people visit. This is a pic i found online to show what it looks like from the front. It's much darker in person. This pic is from the day that i gutted the old electronics. Infinity RS3's

You might consider removing the wood (even though it has a few openings) behind the grille cloth, so the highs and mids from the Infinities wont get obstructed. Cool project though. Project turntable?

The front face is wood with grill cloth behind it. There isnt anyway to remove the wood without affecting the look of the piece. I thought about cutting it out and finding retroish grill cloth but i really like the look of it right now.

Drove back to the beach today in my gas hog truck, towing my 10x20 trailer, so I can load up the golf cart and get it in for the annual "electric car" inspection.
Sucks that a golf cart has to be insured, tagged, and inspected, so it can drive on the street.
Worst part?
The insurance on a freaking golf cart that can only do 20mph costs more than the insurance on my classic Vette.

I tried running conduit for the first time ever today. But I spent most of my time staring at the hot pink thong on the carpet guy's hot daughter.

Stan, it's quite obvious that NO he did not.
Several reasons really, but the big one is that he's old, overweight, and ugly.
