Have a family gathering at the funny farm tomorrow, and then heading down to Oak Island for another week.

I'll be the guy watching all the shark bait from a safe distance. The most of me that'll be in the water, will be my toes, so unless the sharks grow legs, I should be good.... :-)

Some pics of the new Pathfinder:

I'm so happy I was able to help her get this truck. It's been such a terrible year for her, she really needed something to at least look forward to. Its not a replacement for what she lost of course, and nothing will ever be able to replace that, but she is really deserving of something nice.

Nice color choice. I really like the storage box in the back also. My 2013 Juke had that but its missing from the 2015 because its AWD. I had all of my road emergency gear back there plus a couple of jackets, spare collars and leashes for the dogs and some water and beef jerky. Now i have no place for it. Maybe one day i will get a grown ups car :).

They had a white with orange trim Juke in the showroom. I was shocked when she said she liked it.

The storage is nice. The subwoofer takes up some of it unfortunately. It can be removed, but I'm all about that bass, but that bass...

We went to a dealer in Kenosha and they also had the white/orange on display. They are meant to show off the "color studio". We got super black with none of the color modifications.

We never planned on getting a juke. I was looking for a cube or kia soul that i could use to travel with the dogs. One night we pulled into a lot and a sales guy met us and said "no cubes or souls here but we have the juke". We test drove it while he looked around for cubes at another dealer in the area. My girlfriend and i were surprised at how fun the car was to drive. Next thing you know we are driving it home. I would never have looked at it twice but the test drive and the base model sticker price sucked us in.

2 years later we still like it and decided to trade it for the mid-model update that happened this year and we got the SL AWD so we could have leather/navigation/awd. I was in love until the engine had to be replaced after 22 days. Now i hate this car and cant wait to trade it for something else :).

The juke has a fosgate system with a little sub on the left side. It isnt hidden like with the path finder.

My Frontier has the Fosgate system. The sub is under the rear drivers side seat. For a stock system it sounds great. I haven't messed with the Pathfinders radio too much, but from the little i have, it also sounds great.

Yesterday, I spent my lunch break at an old timey vacuum cleaner shop looking at new machines. As unexciting as that sounds, the guy was really nice, knew his vacuums, and even used to service the vacuum at my ex-employer, who he knew pretty well. He said he recently moved and still had not unboxed any of the AV gear. He had a custom cabinet built for the speakers and everything. I gave him a card, and may get a job out of it. Of course after I paid for the vacuum, he asked if I did work on the side....punk. Yeah...maybe if you take 75% off the vacuum you just sold me. :)

It is comforting to know you can still buy an American made vacuum cleaner with a great warranty, from an old guy who knows everything there is to know about vacuum cleaners. (I ended up with a Simplicity S20S) And for not much more $$ than the crap you can buy at home depot or walmart. I chucked one in the trash the other night after tearing it apart only to find circuit board after circuit board. I am guessing one of them failed. F that. Give me a toggle switch and a motor. I ended up with a light as well, but who vacuums in the dark? He tried to upsell me to the one with the sensor that tells you when the floor is dirty or clean. Really? No thanks. My wife makes a pretty decent dirt sensor.

Anyhow, there was that. Then I sold my old Panasonic Bluray player on CL. Kid shows up to pick it up, asks if it does the Netflix. I said yes, took his $10, and sent him and his hot girlfriend on their way. He sends me an email a few hours later. "It doesn't even take wifi.....Dang it"......Ha! I did the guy a favor because he bought one from someone else and it ended up being broken and he could not get the guy to give him his money back. So since he got screwed, and I got mine for free, I gave it to him for lunch money. I have not replied and probably will not. Get screwed once and you learn to do your research. Model number was clearly stated in the ad. He should have looked it up to see if it "took" wifi.

And my boss asked if I wanted to go to CEDIA this year. I said sure. He will be booking our spot this week. Nice! Never been.

I have had people, usually another contractor, ask if I do work on the side. These people know I OWN the business. Seriously?

Of course I will.

My day rate is $500.00 per hour, and I can do some night work for $400.00 per hour.

That work for you?
