Today I'm recuperating from the CEDIA event.
Will try to get in the office to take care of a small portion of overdue paperwork.

Looking forward to next October.

I skipped CEDIA this year (again) to take a really long overdue vacation. It was only a 4-day weekend away with my wife & son but no doubt I made the right choice on where to place the priority.

Found out I won a Lutron Excellence Award for a RA2 project. My Lutron rep attended to accept the award on my behalf. There were a total of 8 awards handed out and my submission won best retrofit project.

Here's a video showcasing the project:

Freaking awesome. Congrats on that award. Don't sleep on the marketing opportunities of the award.

Thanks guys... I don't really do any social media or anything else that makes it easy for me to announce something like this.  I'll send out emails to a few architects, builders & designers that I work with and also let a few existing clients know, but that's probably it.

I'd like to edit the video to include some of the AV aspects of the job and redo the voice over to remove some of the technical jargon and use it as a promotional video.

Have been slowly getting some other video content from other projects as well.

I really hope out clients don't come on this site. They will find your work and fire us all. You will be booked for the next century

I saw this last night and was just floored, it looks like you actually had a production company come out and do your video. Extremely well done, Congrats on the award! it is much deserved.

Also happy to hear you got to spend some time with the family!

I'd call the guy who did the production work at Lutron, and offer him $500 for 5 hours of his downtime. Keep it simple, make it easy.

A huge exaggeration, but I'll take the compliment... thank you!

I did the entire video myself from shooting the video to writing the script and editing.  One of my clients is a pro voice talent and did the voice over so it will be easy to have her alter the narration to include some AV stuff.

I'm installing an under bed TV lift in the master suite at this property so would like to get some video of it to include too.

I had an attack of Kidney Stones 3 weeks ago. I had previously had them about 18 years ago (shortly after my 1st kid was born). I recognized what it was pretty quickly, and had my wife drive me to the hospital. The pain is indescribable, lets just say it is a 10 on a scale of 10. Relentless until you throw up and begin the whole cycle again, and again.... It took forever for them to get meds in me. 5mg of Morphine, nothing. Another 5, another 5, nothing. At 20mg i dropped it to a 8 out of 10. At 25mg i wondered why i was still in the hospital. :) After a CT scan they identified a 3mm stone among many small ones. if it was 4mm or bigger they would have gone in after it, just imagine that scene.. Sent me home with a fist full of Percaset (sp?). Would not wish this horror on my worst enemy.

My family has a history of kidney stones.

Fortunately I try to eat and drink healthy. Never any soda I just drink water, coffee, natural juices and the occasional beer.
