OK... added some narration courtesy of one of my clients. I ask her to record about 20 different sound bites that I can drop into videos which seems to work well and won't require specific narration for each video.

Love it. Now, take out any reference to Santa Barbara Smart Homes so that I can use those videos as my own.

I battled with en Elite Prime Vision. Was one of the most difficult screen installs that we have ever done. It should have been a 2hr job at most to remove old screen and replace with new one.... Partly was due to poor design, another part was to deal with absolute attorcious build quality of the home. Was one of the MOST challenging installs i have ever done. 6 hours :( fortunately it was T&M

It's been a stressful week, but today we won the bid for A/V, automation, security & surveillance for the new home of a pro athlete. This will be a nice one for us: dedicated theater that we get to design, 24 zones of audio, 18 zones of HD video distribution, around 20 touchpanels, a dozen cameras, full security, some automation etc.
Only problem? They want to start insulating a week from tomorrow. Guess what my weekend plans are?
That call came at about 1 this afternoon; by 3:00 we got a call from one of our builders--he has a parade house that needs roughing in next week, and two of his other houses will be ready for trim the following week. Bring it on! The schedule sounds like every job I do. It would be so nice to be able to tell the builder that the insulation needs to wait because I'm not ready for it. Or have the customer tell the bulder that he wants his av system done right and that the schedule needs to wait.

Specified to the client 2 weeks ago that we will have to chop up their ceiling to run wiring, and it will have to be patched and painted when we are done. We'll the room was freshly painted and holes from moving lights had already been painted. Guess who is getting their room painted again.

I was scheduled all day to shoot photos & video of a recent job, and about 10 minutes after I got the camera stuff unpacked the electricity went out and utility company said it would be out all day.
I got a few short video clips out in the yard before I left and made another test video:

What camera are you using? I agree, the narration really polishes the video. I have a bunch more clips with details on lighting control, AV, integration, etc. so just need to get more video content now to pair with them. This latest video was shot using a Nikon D600 with 16-35mm f1:4 lens except for the gate/driveway and carrying the statue which were both shot with iPhone. I just propped the iPhone on my dash and shot through the windshield when I was driving in and it turned out ok.

Yesterday I spend all fricken day cleaning our ~3000Gal fish pond. It was way overdue. As a separate issue, we lost 4 fish over last 5 days; we have not had a dead fish in the last 2 years prior to that. Wife thinks that someone threw rat poison into the pond :-(
In the middle of pond draining/cleaning I noticed that we had low water pressure out of our well. Turns out the main 1" water gate valve failed and was letting little water. OK to run 1 sink/shower at a time, but not enough pressure/flow for a pressure washer and couple water hoses running at same time. So had to stop what I was doing and run to HD to get parts and get that replaced. Because of the delays, we lost several fish due to stress. Wife was upset which made me upset. She had few of the larger fish we lost named and loves to sit by the pond and feed the fish each day.
It took me from 8AM to almost 10PM to get it all done. All physical, low to ground, back breaking work. Must have pulled 300-400LBS worth of sand. I fricken hate NM with it's desert enviroment and sand blowing everywhere. I'm tired, my back hurts. I guess I'm too old for this shit.
Rant over.
