Looks great. The faded pattern around the edge of your van is what i was envisioning with the icons for the gorge van.

I would put some sort of bullet point symbol/icon next to the services.

I think the domain name is too long for advertising. Having "Innovative" as the company name makes it impossible to find a simple domain name like "innovativeav.com" . I would look for a domain like "www.yourareaaudiovisual.com" or "eriehometheater.com" to use. So "erieaudiovisual.com" or maybe one of the areas that you want to target like "buffaloaudiovisual.com" or maybe something simple like "innav.com". The goal would be to have a short easy to remember domain. That might be a good reason to go with the area+audiovisual over the shortened name.

Last thing would be to have the domain and phone number in line vertically or horizontally. If you shortned up the domain name the two could go side by side a long the bottom.

Next time you set one up, take your laptop and connect to the cdi. You will find more eq options. May get what you have been looking for out of it.

I tied the laptop connection with the IQwic software and you do get more control over the crossover points.  I'd never tried it before because I just thought it let you choose the same settings as the front panel (which is easy enough to do from the front panel for a single preset).

This will change my approace in the future wen I use these amps.

I think this job might be headed for a ZonePRO now anyway.  Client is looking for a way to limit output after a certain time in the evening and maybe even be sure the outside zone is turned off at a specfic time.

Anyone that's seen my van knows that I'm a proponent of more information is better.  I think it's a little more important for me to list services because my company name (Santa Barbara Smarthomes) is a little more ambiguous.

If you have "Audio & Video" or "Home Theater" in your name most people will already get what you do, but what if you also do lighting control, cameras, central vac, networking, etc.

I've had long time customers follow me outside and casually look at the van and say "I didn't know you did -insert service here-" after seeing the van.

One of my competitors here in town has a fleet of Sprinters that simply have their company name, number and their slogan "purveyors of effortless access to everything amazing".  It's very classy and they have good name recognition in town, but for someone who doesn't know who they are I'm sure it leaves people guessing.

Innovative AV - Here's a couple pictures of my van that might give you some ideas.  It looks lke you're going for a similar layout to what I have:

Next summer im going to do a outdoor speaker based window perf, now im having one done focusing on indoor audio video IE Home theater

I know that I have lost business because clients didn't know that I also did x,y,z.
When I had my van made, my graphics guy hated the idea of putting it all there, but agreed that if we didn't, people would not know what we did.

I agree with others sentiment; I have not gotten a single job from my van lettering, but my clients have added a service or two based on what they saw on the van when they walked me out at the end of a day.

@ stamp....I used to have IAV.com....innovativeaudiovisual.com....(lost that one) but we have found that the name may be long but the majority remembered the name than just the letters. Most will try to look us up by the name.

@ Paul I am going similar to your look.....simple and to the point....(advertising at 60mph!!)

Installed my first Seura TV--the Premier series vanishing TV mirror. It was the 65" LED. $16k retail. Flanked by Def Tech UIW L/C/Rs driven by an Aventage A1020. It looks awesome; I'll try to post a couple pics.

Started the process of taking my first customer to court for non payment. This is the first time in six years of business that someone ducked out on trying to pay me. I called his work, his mobile, I emailed, sent bills. I must have tried contacting him 30 times before I gave up.

I finally involved my lawyer, who filed suit. He went after this guy, I had some discounts figured into the project, he said he discounts have been revoked. The day after he made contact with this dead beat, I get an email saying he wanted to finish up his project and that he had been out of the country. This has been 4 months, no way in hell this mortgage broker was out of town was out of town for four months.

It's a shame it had to come to this but it looks like I might get my way on this one.

Well, I talked to my lawyer today, the customer saw it our way and agreed to deliver a certified check for the balance, legal fees, and a few dollars for interest.

Our legal system works, too bad this isn't Saudi Arabia, I would have had his hands chopped off.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

Great outcome... I haven't had to deal with this yet, but I'm sure it's something that happens to everyone after enough time.

I had to cut down two Middle Atlantic CFR racks this morning.  These are the little base cabinet racks that are welded together.

They're also kind of fit together like a puzzle, so once I had the welds drilled and cut out to get the tops off I couldn't just cut the rails straight across to shorten them, had to cut halfway across and then vertically so they would fit back in the top.

Started to touch up the ends with a can of black spray paint and it got clogged.  Had to finish by pulling the nozzle off and then pressing the can against a little piece of cardboard that I used like a paint brush.

All this because I got the wrong dimensions (should have measured myself!).

yeah, I hate to tell you but it does. And from the person you least expect it too. Had to deal with this not to long ago, still waiting for reimbursement of legal fees/interest which i doubt ill never see but atleast i got what was "owed" to me. after paying my lawyer I broke nearly even on parts cost/a bit of my time. What was left over bought a few drinks at the watering hole.

In situations like this you come to have a love/hate relationship with your lawyer.

I had my first Bruce moment today.
Was running additional wires in the small attic, missed a step and... well you can see. I'm OK, and I didn't even get pissed at myself, which was weird. I guess I figured I was overdue.

So since I've never had to deal with this, I started to look for drywall repair guy.
I got prices ranging from $225 to $375 and more.
Is this normal? Residential installation, less than 4SqFt worth of drywall, some mud, texture in a can and a pint of color matched paint from Home Depot less than 3 miles away.

What do you expect to pay someone to fix something like that?

Another question for the group, I'm eating the cost of this repair as it was all my fault; is that the normal course of business for most of you out there?
Does anyone have any clauses about not being responsible for accidents such as this?
