What were you driving that day? Company vehicle maybe..... if so, wondering what he thought when he pulled up.

He must be using the new "wireless" power and wireless HDMI. No wires needed ;)

At the beach and working "kind of hard"....

Removed a DIY installed storm door on the sun room and installed a 2-8 15 lite insulated steel door.

This ended up requiring removal of some vinyl siding, J-channel, properly framing the opening, installing new J-channel, siding and the door.

Tomorrow will be removal of a window, in the laundry/mud room, and converting the opening to a 36" door for access from the outdoor shower.

I was driving the work van, but parked in front on the street and he was parked in back so he wouldn't have seen the van.

I actually walked out back and made a call to see what he was driving.  If it was a legitimate compeitiors van/truck I was going to introduce myself.  I saw a little hatch back with the back propped up and a 5 gallon bucket with some tools in the back so I think that's what he was driving?

The pizza guy probably ended up with exactly what he wanted to spend.

Probably ended up with Wiremold or a dangling cord. I don't think the owner cares.

Not everyone in SB can afford to live there. ;)

What a gorgeous house, BTW.

Although everyone should center a display, I don't think the pizza guy could afford your expertise.

When I went to the gym this morning I had 4 young women who I assume to be dancers of some sort working hard on the stair-master machines immediately in front of me. It was like a private Benny Benassi music video.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

Was it hard to continue your workout?

We were out last weekend looking for a new place. I think the universe is trying to tell me something... look closely at the address.

That means you have to buy it.

Me I just switched my daughters car seat forward facing. Waited as long as possible but it's time. Hell she plugged in her "hi-pad" a few minutes ago. Figured she's about ready to hold a conversation while we head to Chicago for the weekend.

Time to see the in laws.

True, mainly because it caused me to spend 15 minutes longer than usual on the machine I was on :)

Completely dismantled & rewired the video distribution system at my boss's church. It looked like someone had weaved all the RG-6 together, hooked everything up, & pushed it off the back of the shelf onto the floor. We reused existing parts but provided a structured wiring enclosure, where I relocated an RF modulator, a distibution amp, and a couple of splitters. By the time I finished I had three splitters and an A/B switch left over, & everything worked great.

Had lunch with my boss and we discussed some of our upcoming work that has us booked for the next few weeks.

Sheesh.....it was friday of course. Started out by picking up a TV at son-in-law's house to take to his mother-in-law's house to install. Boss was supposed to meet me at her place with the rest of the parts to mount the TV to her existing cabinet because they threw out the OEM TV base (brilliant). He calls and says he is going to be a few hours late because he is in the emergency room. (WTF? I saw him 1/2 hour ago and he was fine). I get there, retro some RG6 for future DTV locations, trim the plates, and waited. Boss shows up, we rig the TV to the cabinet and leave for the next job.

We have signed up to subcontract TV deliveries/installs for Sears which has its pros and cons. We go to the first one and put together a stand and put the TV in and show the elderly people how confusing it is to use their cable box remote to turn the TV on and off (hahaha.....old people are funny).

4:00 - Boss's wife (real boss?) calls and says we have another Sears job to do. I beat the boss to the mall (Sears), run in a grab a slice of cardboard pizza to scarf down. Boss shows up, we load the TV. His wife shows up with the paperwork and we are off to the other side of town. Haul the lady's old Sony SXRD out, put in the new Sharp LCD, set it up and get out of there.

Drive back to shop in rush hour traffic. Unload truck, do paperwork, try to go home. Does your boss talk a lot? Mine does. New job....new boss....I am not comfortable yet just putting my foot down and telling him I NEED to go NOW....so I hang out and shoot the breeze for 15 minutes.

6:30 - I drive home (1/2 mile) and pick up my ~2 yr. old daughter at the neighbors' house (wife had to go to work at 6). Made spaghetti with pesto alfredo sauce for dinner. Fire up the SONOS and the laptop to chill for the night. And here we are.

No work until wednesday (maybe). Nice! :) Part time is pretty awesome.....it will not last much longer...gotta enjoy it. Built an 8' snowman yesterday. :)

Sold my biggest home theater to date.  Dedicated room.  It's been a long time since I did a room from studs to finish.  I'm geeked about it.  And the homeowner actually brought some really good design ideas to the table without being a pita about it.
