Not today but about 2 weeks agoI took some crappy cell phone pics of a B&W Nautilus system we set up.
The system was crazy
Nautilus fronts HTM1D center 800D's for rears (2) Jl Fathoms (recently exchanged for 2 GOTHAMS!?!?!) All classe amps(4 per front,2 for center,etc..) Lexicon processing and cabling from Kimber cable.
All in all it was over 200k for the equipment for just that room. Did they use a Projector or Plasma? Nice system, had to sound beyond belief!

Hey uh, Phil... You should use one of those tree-limb "Y" things... where you hold onto it and when you walk over a water pipe, it will "pull" towards the water... like the farmers used to use to find underground springs and crap. You mean "Dowsing Rod". Check out http://www.dowsers.org/ Maybe we both should join.

The job site was 111 degrees on the ground today and expected to be worse tomorrow. I worked my guys for a few hours this morning, took them to lunch and sent them home with waterpark tickets so they can spend a little time with their kids tomorrow. I'm going to crank the air up high enough to black out the western United States and get some office work done.

Got a call from my buddy who was fairly high up in the corporate ladder, at M#GN#L#A todaY... his job was eliminated the other day and I guess they eliminated a few other positions also... of some guys way at the top in the sales management level and sales training & management... My boss sat me down and explained to me that he is a total PIA at times and that I never should take it personally etc. etc. (because he has been a total terror the last few days)... He apologized, and said I gotta live with it... And that he knows he can be a real tyrant most of the time... I ordered up some acoustical (#703) panels, fabric and frames to treat one of our soundrooms. After work I bought a new copy (of the vinyl LP) of Abbey Road.... Think I'll frame the album and stick it in my office area at home. Kind of a weird day.

Can I just email the pics to myself? Just curious, but why did they use Nautilus's (Nautili ?) for the fronts? Those speakers are a 10 year old design now and the 800D's would blow them out of the water. The voices would also be far better matched as well as it has changed a fair bit over the years, especially now with the new diamond tweeters and minimalist crossover designs. The HTM1D truly is something to behold. We have one at the shop set up on a shelf above 2 Electrocompaniet NEMO's. The tweeter and about a third of the midrange enclosure is actually in the way of the bottom of the screen. Oh well, a job for Rob one day to move the screen up a bit. Which Classe amplifiers were they using? CA M400s? Hope so, they are probably the nicest amplifier that Classe have ever made. We had a CA 2200 in the shop for a while that was awful, to say the least. Seems strange that he went to all that trouble with all the Classe and then used a Lexicon processor, when the Classe 600 is a super-nice piece of kit and would match beautifully. Whatever he's using, I'm interested to know what method you used to split the balanced signal (did you use balanced interconnects ?) of each of the pre-outs into the four amplifiers? Stanley is right though in assuming that this guy may just be a high roller. Nautilus are a nice, exotic looking unit, but IMHO the 800D's would probably sound nicer. Sounds like it must have been a fun load-in, and I am keen to see the photo's too!! Cheers, Robbie.

Cheers,
Robbie. Hello, Yes we used balanced interconnects for the fronts. We didnt have to split the feed to the amps. The Natauilus have exterior crossovers for each cabinet, and each speaker(low,mid,upper-mid and tweeter)has a balanced output from the crossover. So each amp had its own balanced input from the crossover. The amps were the CA-M400's.As for the speaker selection upfront, this guy is a show off,he wanted the most expensive speakers we carried. He is a Brazilian guy high in the Brazilian goverment. So its all probably stolen money from Brazil. He also has 27 cameras outside the house and a bodyguard at the gate. As far as the pics go,I have a Sliver(L7) from Verizon.I dont have an option to send the pics as email, only as pics to another cell. So if somebody wants I can send them the photos to their phone then they can email them to me or you can host them. Be forewarned though, they arent finished pics, simply pics during the install. Any takers on the pics idea?
