Our company is buying two new laptops (this week) for the field. Does anyone have any issues with Win2000 or Win XP USING Pronto Edit software or Marantz RC xxxx software. If so which OS has the least problems with these programs?

Thanks
Dave

The only issue I am aware of which applies to both of the OS' you mentioned is the known issue of learning ir codes through Pronto Edit on a Win2000 or XP machine will crash Pronto Edit. You need to learn the ir codes manually (on the remote) then upload them back to the editor.
I am rather new to these so there may be more issues I am unaware of.

I use a laptop with XP for Pornto edit, and it works fine as long as you don't perform the learn function while hooked up. Suposedly it will work fine while learning with Windows 2000...I haven't tried it though.

Pronto Edit crashes hard while learning if it is connected to a Windows 2000 PC. Other than that it works fine.

I am using Windows 2000 on a notebook and am having NO problems. I don't know what is different about my setup, but I can Learn with it connected to the computer without crashes. I have had a couple of crashes while editing, but as long as I save once in a while, it is not an issue for me.
