Avaya phone systems allow station to station intercom as well.

What are the parameters of your application?

This is for a mid-size home (~5,000 sqft) & client wants to be able to page thru home & answer door from phones. Client is not pleased with the look of Panasonic or Nutone.

Also, would like to have a couple wireless phones.

Many thanks.

Have you looked at Elan Home Systems? A centerpiece of their product line is the ability to do paging and intercom through the whole house music system with your phone. They have nice door stations and don't require any special phones. Might be a good option for you if you have whole house sound.

If it is the look of the Panasonic door stations, this can be changed with new parts from HoloVision availible from www.capitolsales.com

Another solution could be TMC phones (KSU-less system) and a touch-n-talk system with HoloVision plates.

Or as mentioned above http://www.elanhomesystems.com

Why would you want an alternative to the panasonic anyway it is a really terrific, reliable phone system we use them all the time. And Fred Harding at Capitol Sales 1-800-install ext 131 is incredible knowable. You won't be sorry.

I agree that the Panasonic system in general has excellent functionality and has thus far been our system of choice ... however, the look of the phones is not a difficult sell to many of my clients (great in an office or even contemporary home.

Also, I think that they could do more with the cordless phones ... make them easier to use, etc.

Just looking to see what else guys are using ......

A fairly inexpensive solution (compared to the Panasonic) would the combination of the Siemens Giagaset 8825 system (up to 8 cordless handsets) and something from DoorBell Fon. The Siemens handsets have hands free intercom capability and seem to work well. I have used them in homes up to about 7,000 sq. ft. Of course it all depends on the client...
