Y’all have any recommendations for a corded/cordless vacuum cleaner to keep in the van and use at jobsites?

All of our vans have the smaller 2-2 1/2 gallon shop vacs and a few blankets, we will layout several blankets on the floor if house is done to cover the floor well and then we roll them up to contain the mess if we make one and the vacs are small enough to carry on the vans and drag out when we need to vacuum out a cabinet or base moulding if we make a mess.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Last Christmas I was given a Dewalt (18 volt) cordless... It's nice, but it is big... I really just need a small handheld to pick up the crumbs... Was recently looking at a little Eureka that looked pretty good.

I'd get a corded one however, because the last thing you want is to run out of power while cleaning up the last few little chunks of wire strippings and dust you leave laying around... or what falls out of your blanket or tarp as you leave the place.

Also make sure you get one that won't "pass" drywall dust out of it's exhaust!!!

I learned that lesson the hard way once... Turned it on in this super dark wooded room and it looked like I was fumigating the place---Drywall dust EVERYWHERE!

I use the Milwaukee Pro Vac. It looks and sounds Professional. I carry it and dropcloths into the house first thing on arrival. It makes a better impression than 50' of extension cord and 6' drill bits. :)

The job isn't finished until any mess is cleaned up.

I believe it is private labeled for Milwaukee by ShopVac.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
Any wire cut to length will be too short.

Now THAT IS COOL!!! Expensive... but if it filters out drywall dust it is worth it.
Would be nice to have some attachment that clamps onto your rotozip.

2-1/2 gallon shop vac here also. With bag and foam filter. Small, light to carry and inexpensive; I don't really mind buying a new one every two years.

We started out with the DeWalt corded/cordless unit, but found that it was very weak on power even when plugged in.

We've since purchased a 4 gallon rigid and we really like it...it is small enough to easily move throughout a client's home without banging the walls and such. It has great power as well and wasn't that expensive.

I saw a vac at Lowes that I'm considering. It straps onto your back. Can't remember who makes it.

I use the 4.5 gallon pro pak from ridgid.

I got tired of having hoses and the attachments in the way and not staying where they are supposed to.

I look down my nose at you. It is beyond me why anyone would buy such a POS $500 vacuum when they could have true pride of ownership with a Miele S558 Red Velvet (OF COURSE with the Deluxe Powerbrush). You are a vacuum pretender sir, a wannabe.
