I'm working on a system that is using crestron as a control system. Within this system we are using ST-VC modules to control the volume...

The audio passing through these devices have noise that sounds like a data transmission and corresponds with the Crestnet indicator on the front of the unit. If I unplug the Crestnet connector from the Pro2 unit, the sound goes away (still get audio through the ST-VC's, the vc's 'remember' their current setting until reload).

I cannot for the life of me get rid of this noise, I have grounded the Crestnet lines, checked gain structure etc. Granted, this isn't a loud level thing, but you can definatly hear it in the audio when it's 'quiet' IE no mics or audio running through the system. Unfortunatly, this happens quite often in a board room setting.

Anyone with an idea or two PLEASE share them with me.

Thank you!!

ps: The VC's are only about 1 foot away from the Pro2

I had this problem once, all I could do to fix it is turn the gain down on the amps.

Unfortunatly, it's being distributed to media plates etc....and when they preamp it to a 'acceptable' level, it's still there.

You should try amplifying the source *before* it goes into the volume controls. That way, you can reduce the gain on the amps or the media plate's pre-amps, and still have acceptable sound level -- in theory :-)

Also, try posting the question to the Crestron programmers group at [Link: groups.yahoo.com]

I'm already running +4dBu into the VC's at nominal levels...Pro audio levels.

Crestron replied to my emails and have said there is a fix for this.
