that's spooky, I have a personal rule that I never go to a website that is 27 hous ahead of me. it's the only personal rule I have and AV pros violated it.

I don't get it either...Are you thinking of AV pros website? Anyways is there such a thing as 27 hours ahead? Wouldn't it be 3 hours ahead? Or are there places that are a full day ahead of us? My brain is aching...

all right, now I look stupid.er, I was there last night at 135 am eastern on the home page and there was a clock that said 'today is sunday march 9th at 435pm.' which, now that I think of it is only 15 hours ahead of me, so i did my math wrong. anyway I just went back and the clock is gone.
there goes my credibility.

OK, I've got a few questions/observations. I notice you want to make the site for people in the industry only. I agree it's cool to have our "special club". But I'm going to play devils advocate.

1.What will you lose by discouraging participation from people not in the industry? There is a HELL of a lot of knowledge out there to be shared by people that aren’t in the industry. Do you think this forum would be the resource it is if it was "professionals only".

2.What do we gain by making it “professionals only”? I suppose we could talk about pricing a little bit more openly. And I guess we wouldn’t have to see “where can I buy such and such cheaper posts”. What else do we gain?

3.How do you intend to verify that someone is really in the industry?

4.If you limit participation to people only in the industry you will probably not get more than a few hundred members (just guessing). Won’t that limit the site from growing as well as from getting advertisers? Is making it a money making enterprise a goal?

BTW, it’s a very nice looking site.

Well you have good questions. I thought it would be hard to restrict access to certain areas of disccusion and topics but with the new site in place i do feel i can control the content and access of certain members. I feel there are enough People in the Trade to keep a good healthy messsage forum up and running but definitly see the need for the addation hits.

If you could be so kind, could we carry this thread over to the PSI forum and discuss this more?

I don't think making an arithmetic mistake should make you lose your credibility.

On the other hand, I am neither Fundamentalist nor paranoid, but what does your name, 1forsatan spelled backwards, signify? I should think that that name, if taken seriously, should make one wonder about your discretion, hence your credibility; if it is a joke, then THAT would make me wonder about your discretion, hence your credibility. Arithmetic could be the least of your issues!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Then again Ernie, I might wonder what it says about someone that spends their time reading things backwards :). And since he is posting anonymously on an Internet board, I'm not sure how it affects his credibility at all. Unless his company name happens to be Audio by Satan. Or Satan and Son's Audio.

This is getting silly. Ah shucks, what the hell.
Ya, I heard when they have a scratch and dent sale people will sell their souls to get in on them.
And I heard some of the employees are always horny.

Your turn. Who's next?
