I have a Philips model # 55pp9502 55" HDTV. I have recently gotten a philips pronto tsu2000. The philips website was nice enough to provide me with the descrete codes. All of them seem to work fine except for descrete on and off. I assume that my TV would have these descrete codes, since all of the Inputs and Aspect ratio codes work for it. I call their customer support site, and after teaching the guy what a descrete code is, he placed me on hold for 30 minutes, then he finally hung up on me. I am not sure if I am doing somehting wrong or if the codes just are wrong. Someone please shed some light on the subject. TIA Jon

Philips discrete codes have been pretty unreliable. They gave me discrete codes for all their then-new 2002 line. I had a direct view Pixel Plus Tv which worked fine. I then sold 3 32" plasma monitors, anticipating the discretes they supplied would work. Alas, they did not and I had to do the cheesy "Is your TV on?" deal. They recently supplied me with revised codes for several models, but I have not had the opportunity to try them yet. If you are interested, I can email you that file.
