I have a client that already has the Vizio L37 LCD TV and it is now my job to make it work with a Pronto TSU 3000. I am able to learn codes from the supplied remote, but I need a discrete hex code for on and off. I have looked all over and cannot find them. Does anyone have these codes, if it even has this option, or is there a work around for it? Thank you in advance.

The solution is to use the return the TV to Costco Sams club Walmart or whatever dimestore it was purchased at and get a real TV. That TV has ZERO discetes and very little in the way of workarounds.

That is kind of what I figured. Unfortunately I didn't get to give myinput on the TV, so returning it will not happen. Has anyone found a workaround? Thank you.

If i am not mistaken - that TV turns itself off after no signal is present for a certain amount of time. Maybe you can work with that in some way. Switch to a non-used input at the shut down point and see how long it takes to hiberate. Good luck.

Just had a client with the 32" Vizo and the codes were LG. Try them.

now thats silly. The remote cost more (and is worth more!) than that TV.

You're not doing your customer or yourself any favors by letting him keep that piece of junk. I know, some people wont listen.. and maybe thats the case you are in.

Sorry, dont mean to rant :)

I know I am going to get flamed for this but...

Recently did a job where customer had a 37" Visio and it did not look that bad. No worse then the overpriced Sony, Toshiba, Sharp, etc.... Obviously not a great piece of equipment but probably worth the dirt cheap price it seels for.

LG codes worked on the Vizio! Really. All of them or just some. Can you list which ones?

Thank you for all of your comments. Unfortunately my hands are tied on the TV because it was purchased before I came on the scene, so I have to make due with what I have. I am interested in the LG codes. Could you give some more information? Thank you again for all the help.

The Vizio is passable with HD but terrible with SD.

It responds to some of the LG codes but none of the discretes. I listed my workarounds for input selection... but as for an ON and an OFF... you are screwed.

One sort of discreet for on off is if you send it to rgb because it's for pc it acts like a monitor and shuts off after not detecting a signal then just hit input and the tv comes to life then select correct input by toggling. hope this helps. In my case it didn't since it was hooked up to a pc that is always on.

Another Random code set that seems to work on these off brand sets as well as Poloroid branded LCD's are a few of the different samsung code sets.

I have the 42" VIZIO 1080p and the LG code 1196 works with my RCA Universal remote for power and volume.

So this is a toggle power you refer to or a dicrete power??

A toggle power is worthless in this forum...
