Has anyone done any custom programing with the new pronto next generation programing and if so how did you like it? Do you have any suggestions with layout format?

I haven't done any for a client but I have been messing around with it in house and I don't like it too much. It is incompatable with win98 so I had to upgrade to XP which is incompatable with Marantz touch screen set up. It just seems more clunky than the old software but I do like the remote a bit more.

"XP which is incompatable with Marantz touch screen set up."

Huh-I didn't know this. I've done about 20 Marantz files on XP without a problem? Am I just lucky and this is an established problem?

Marantz does not "officially" recommend the use of TSS with XP, but many have used TSS without a problem.

TSU3000 has a couple of shortcomings in the software that I am sure will be corrected eventually.

Just left a couples house that had thier old a/v company install a TSU3000 and I got to say that I think Phillips has screwed up bad. I dont like what I see in the NG software and I cant believe that the 3000 doesnt use the same OS as the 2000 with the addition of a few buttons. The 3000 feels way lighter than the 2000, the build quality just doesnt seem to be the same. I could be wrong about all of this but I am not sure that I will sell the 3000. I will decide after I get the showroom model in a few days. Anybody else installed a 3000 yet?

I've done a few but have not come to a conclusion yet. My PCFs are converted CCFs, so most of my problems are in the conversion. I do find the buttons sluggish...and I particularly dislike the bottom hard buttons having to be pressed twice to execute the command. The first time is to activate the screen, then you must hit the button again in order to initiate the action.

I have been messing with it for a few days now. The program does have some short falls but im sure they will work them out. My main problem seems to be that I can not find a gallery file for it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
Jeff

We have had many problems w/ 3000. Not a smart control at all. The home button doesn't even know what to do. We feel the software has many issues at our shop. every time you save the remote, something seems to get lost from the config. Would love to know if there are installers w/similar issues.

I asked a guy at Tweeter today why they weren't selling it yet and he told me that the software is causing peoples systems to crash, and they won't sell it until the problem is fixed.

This remote and its software is a piece of Belgian ----. I am extremly dissapointed in it. Every time I wanted to download something into the remote I had to shut down my computer and restart. There are hard buttons that I cannot program, and I also have the problemt that when I download PCF's to the remote it seems to loose a code in the process. We ordered 4 remotes and are down to our last one and I think we will be doing RC9200's and 5200's or other alternatives only.

I hate to add to the misery but my sales rep told me the 2000's are now discontinued so unless you want to sell the marantz or the Chad you are going to have to deal with the 3000, bugs and all.

Don't get me started. I would love to comment on the actual programming, but we can't even get the 3000 to work with our laptop. We have spent 4 days doing everything Philips has recommended, including upgrading to Windows XP Pro. We are able to download the firmware update into the 3000s we have, but every time we try to upload a configuration - we are told the RC is not connected. It has been miserable. At this point in time - we are very unhappy with what we have seen.
