Dude - that's a billable change order where I come from. If you want to be the nice guy and opt not to charge them then go ahead. I usually take this opertunity to slam the cable company and move them to dish.

I would think that would be billable too. It may not be their fault that the cable company changed the lineup...But if anyone has to pay for the changes it certainly shouldn't be the installer.

I agree that it should be billed. If the client is cool and there is potential for future work, it is one small sign of superior support that could pay off in future work / additions / job referals... Something to consider if the work is not major.

Going slightly off topic... that is one of the strengths of Crestron. I can make the changes in my service provider's macro that I have made, and it automatically takes effect in any program that uses it with a simple recompile. Any client that has IP comms set up to the processor can then receive the update without even going on site. This could be done with a modem, too.

Marantz RC-xx00's, and MX-700's that I program do not get any channel macros unless I have a signature from the client that if and when the channel linup changes, it is Billable time.

Maybe this is the first time Charter has changes their channel lineup........ Live and learn, this happens on a regular basis......

Proboly, this is NOT the first time the channels changed.
