Has anyone used any of the Connect Home products. We're looking in to possibly using the products, however it seems like quite an investment to become a dealer. I'd like to find more out about the company from a practicality and "real-world" standpoint. No bashing of the product, please. You can bash this post or me all you want. ;)

Thanks for your input.

I have spoken with the connect home people at length and decided it was too much of a commitment, but if you aren't committed to a lot of other manufacturers Connect Home is probably a viable option. They did seem pretty flexible on terms and willing to look into carrying lines that you need.
How hard can this be?

They claim to be able to provide their dealers with an inside track to custom home builders. Have you heard or experienced this to be true?

I never actually signed on with them so I don't know for sure, but my experience with other similar deals was that they will advertise like crazy and when people from your area call them, they will refer them to you. Usually that means individual home buyers rather than custom home builders. This is fine, but make sure you're set up to handle a high volume of calls. You will have to sift through all the calls you get to figure out who is really willing to pay for your services. I kid you not, you will receive a certain amount of calls asking if you can fix their VCR. If it's custom builders you seek, just check your yellow pages, local HBA, or just stop by a construction trailor. Drop off what ever literature you have and keep following up. Just don't let them talk you into giving them anything for free.
