I have an MRZ-6 and a punch on Intellipads. One of my Intellipads no longer powers on. The interesting thing is that at the same time the MRZ-6 has started acting odd. The Confirm light on the front of the unit constantly blinks green. We are using a Pronto unit that handles things like turning on all the devices (tv, satellite, receiver) but now you have to hit the button multiple times to get all units on. Previously, one click and everything was on. Any ideas?

Thanks!

It sounds like you're getting interference from somewhere. Either disable the MRZ's internal IR receiver, or cover it with something. If you have any IR receivers in the system, temporarily disconnect them (one at a time) and see if the problem goes away. If that doesn't work, start disconnecting keypads.

Also, check all your wiring. Disconnect power to the MRZ, and then power it back up. There's also a possibility a keypad, IR receiver, or the MRZ is defective...

We have the same problem at one of our clients houses, and we can't get the interference to go away. We never had any problems with our MRZ-6's until the last 2 we installed and Niles insists that nobody else is having these interference problems but us. I think they are crap. They always lose codes, and are a generally a pain in the ass.

Your best bet is to dump Niles and go with ELAN.

Personal opinion. I find ELAN to be easier to install and more reliable. The only thing I use from Niles are their speaker switch boxes.

Their newer unit (ZR-4630) isn't bas at all. It has run nice so far and is very easy to set up. I like it from what I've seen. But not the MRZ-6
