I have a system in a client's bedroom with a PDP4330 Pioneer Plasma, a TSU6000, and a Xantech 490-90 IR eye that repeats to both local source components (in a closet) and to the basement racks (where the othe components and preamp are). The 490-90 goes into a CB12 (one zone coneecting block) which is powered by one of the Z630's (Elan preamp). The signal gets through to the source equipment in the basement and in the closet just fine, but the elan source select, and volume control commands only work if the Pronto Pro is less than 8 feet from the IR eye. Does anyone know how I can extend this range or a different IR eye with the frequency capabilities of the 490-90 even when near a plasma. I have tried shooting differently, re-learning, dowloading, etc. codes for this stuff but no success. Thanks in advance for any help.

I know it sounds silly, but try a power supply locally to the IR receiver. I had the same problem with a Niles in-ceiling IR receiver, I put a power supply in the attic about 10 feet away from the receiver and it worked like a champ.

it seems your having problems controling only the Elan system right?

what the frequency used by Elan? (it could be out of range of the plasma proof Ir receiver you installed)

I heard the plasma proof Ir receivers had a narrow bandpass for frequencies?

You might try a new IR Receiver from Audioplex. I use there stuff with plasmas all the time. Great range. Killer product. The tech support guys are awsome. I had a situation with that same tv and same issue, put in the audioplex eye and all was resolved. Hope this helps.

The elan codes are a higher frequency than the norm, but they do work with the eye, just not from far away, it is the only plasma friendly IR eye that elan says works, but it sure doesn't work very well yet.

Is there a way I can beef up the Tsu6000 output at the higher frequencies?

What was the Audioplex model number?

Converted TSU-6000 to RF then flashed the Eye. Keep the Eye behind the Plasma. I have done it to Elan HD with a Runco Plasma with the controller and Elan HD about 100' away. You could either flash the Pioneer with the RF adapter or change settings in the pronto to IR for that piece only.

THe Audioplex eye that I have been using is the StealthHX4056-hw-pp. I have had much luck with this product and found it to be very reliable.

I had same problem. I used a regular xantech dinky link just for elan control, next to plasma proof sensor. It worked fine. Plasma proof ir sensor for everything but elan, and dinky link just for elan.
