If that's the 400 cd changer, I never found discrete on and off for that unit
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

I have used the play button as the discrete on for this unit and the power button for off. This seems to work ok for me.

Chris,

You sure you don't mean the previous model Sony CDPCX450 mega CD Changer?

I have tried the "play .....Stop" for power on with 3 different Sony CDPCX455 mega CD Changers and this does not work.(as it worked with older models) Are you sure it was a 455 you tried and not a 450?

You are correct. I went back and looked at the clients file, and it was the CDPCX450. Sorry for the confusion

Why does Sony do this??? They are taking away functionality in a time when they should be adding more functionality.
The new sony VCRs (900?)no longer support discrete inputs!! Why??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sorry, had to vent...

To all in this thread, I posted this in a different thread in this forum a while back and no one answered or was able to help. So here are the serial strings to send to a Sony CIS converter box again. I got these from Sony Engineering, however I do not have the proper equipment to convert the code.

I don't know if any other codes exist ie: shuffle, continue...

/x: represents the byte as hexadecimal within a Crestron system.

/x80 /x06 /x01 /x00 /x45 /x11 /xF0 (discrete on)

/x80 /x06 /x01 /x00 /x45 /x12 /xF0 (discrete off)

If this doesn't work try substituting /x45 with /x44

Please re-post if anyone can do anything with these...

Thanks again

Brad S.

I installed a CDP-CX355 in a system last week. The unit responded to the POWER ON and POWER OFF codes I had in my crestron database. Can anyone confirm that there has been a running update to these machines that reverted back to the old ON/IFF Disretes, or do I have a magic crestron file I should turn into a CCF?
