Was at a client's house last week, when I noticed that the Pio Elite plasma (we're not Elite dealers, client purchased plasma himself) we'd hung was exhibiting an unusual system - with the TV in "standby" mode, the LEDs at bottom left would flash, alternating between red & blue.

With the panel powered up, the display itself would show two large flashing/alternating red & blue squares for a few seconds, after which the picture would display without issue (and the power LED light changes to constant blue).

So, the panel appears to be working - it's just the perplexing red/blue flashing lights in standby mode and the momentary red/blue flashing squares on display upon power on ... any ideas what this panel's trying to tell us?

The alternating flashing boxes are the indication that the cable between the media center and the TV is loose or disconnected. Check your connections.

great, I'll check that out ... the odd thing is that the picture & audio both come up w/o issue after a few seconds - even so, worth double-checking, thanks!

Elite plasmas dont have media boxes. We had an elite do that to us about a year ago, only we had no pic. Pioneer had to come and fix it.

ssfx, The current Elite plasmas do not have media boxes, but the 43" and 50" Elite plasma tv's from the past two model years did use media boxes. Sounds like an interface cable issue to me. I would try disconnecting the power cords to both the panel and the media box. Make sure both the dvi and the control cable are seated properly at the plasma and media box. Now reconnect power to both and hope for the best. Look on the bright side - at least its working.

Aaron is very correct, I have done dozens of Elite's and the first thing I would do is what is brought up here.
When good enough is not good enough.
