OK here's the deal, the DTC100 uses the OK/Menu button as the cover for the ir receiver. The button is curved not flat. What is the common way short of removing the button cover to make the xantech sitkc on and work, or is there a transmitter that is compatible with the xantech that can be placed in the av closet, but not directly on the component.

With just about any Sony Sat reciever is a little IR transmitter that is designed to go on top of or below a unit and it "Blasts" about 12" reliably...These are what I use in that situation.

There are lots of them, but two good ones are the Niles IRC-1 and SpeakerCrafts's IRE 5.0

Use a liitle crazy glue, and stick the emitter at 7Oclock below the menu button.(not ON the menu button) I have done this 100 times and it works like a charm.

Dont use crazy glue!

Use a small dot of Hot Glue!

I have been using it for several years and it works great, the emitter wont fall off and you can still remove it if you need to.

Cut a xantech emitter cover in the shape of a capital I and will hold the emitter in place. We do it all the time, it will hold the emitter in place forever. We have done this at, at keast 100 customers houses. Not a problem.

I take it one step further for a clean custom look. I open up all the components and install the emitters inside. It also keeps little hands from pulling them off.

I am not a pro but I can't believe any pro would not want to install these inside for a nice clean look. I did everyone of my components that way. I cut the red lens on the seam to expose just the emitter inside. I open the unit and wire tie it to the internal receiver or something close by. Before I put the case back I always check to make sure it is functional. I did my DTC-100 like this. You have to remove the front panel also to get to the internal receiver. If I can do it you pro's should be doing that on all your high priced installs.

I go into hi-end theatre setups all the time and notice how crappy those emitters look on the front of a component. JMHO :)
